5 Tips for Managing Multiple Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, or Twitter Accounts

Whether you’re managing two accounts or six, here are our five best tips to help streamline your workflow.

Tip #1: Create a Social Media Content Calendar

A social media content calendar is essential for anyone working in social media or building a brand.

With it, you can quite literally see the big picture.

Later's social media calendar, made in Google Sheets.

This makes it easier to stay on top of campaigns, meet deadlines, and ensure you’re sharing a variety of content types across multiple platforms.

Whether it's a calendar template created in Google Sheets, a project management tool like Asana, or a social media management tool like Later, a content calendar helps you stay organized and efficient.

If you're starting from scratch, here are a few basics to include:

  • Every platform you plan to post to

  • Go-live dates and times (don’t forget about time zones!)

  • Post captions

  • Visual formats

  • Links to assets (you’ll need these when scheduling content later!)

  • Tracking links (if used)

Remember, there's no one-way to organize your content calendar, just make sure it's set up in a way that makes sense to you.

Tip #2: Prioritize the Right Channels

While you might want to be on every channel, your bandwidth and resources could limit that option.

To manage multiple social media accounts you need to be strategic about where you show up, so you can make the most impact and reach your overall goals.

For example, here at Later, we regularly publish content on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X (aka Twitter), YouTube, and Pinterest.

However, we’ve been experimenting with publishing more shareable content on LinkedIn — resulting in an increase in engagement and follower growth.

Since this new strategy is working (and due to team bandwidth), we've reduced our publishing cadence on Twitter to give us more space to post twice a day on LinkedIn instead.

The takeaway: Dedicate more time (and effort) to the channels that give you the most traffic or engagement.

Tip #3: Repurpose and Cross-promote Content

Creating content can be incredibly time-consuming, so why not get the most mileage out of every piece of content you produce?

For example, if you create a TikTok, consider sharing it on Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Pinterest.

Check out how beauty brand Glossier cross-promotes the same TikTok video to Instagram Reels:

Cross-promoting content is a great way to build your following across multiple channels and open yourself up to more engagement, and potential ad revenue, too.

Because at the end of the day, it’s all about working smarter, not harder. 💡

Say it with us: automation is your friend.

Especially for repetitive tasks.

For example, if you’re looking to automate your Instagram captions, Later’s AI Writer is the perfect solution.
